There is something magical about seeing a group of children to transform simple ingredients into something delicious with your own hands. This week, the irresistible aroma of sauce, and fresh baked treat filled the space while the chefcitos they wore their aprons to learn how to make... ¡pizza!

The workshop was designed especially for the children of those who are part of Maia Cheese, with the goal that they could enjoy, learn to cook, and live a fun experience and educational in the kitchen. The activity was held next to Andrew Grillo @chefcitos.uy, who took his hand to the small step-by-step in this delicious culinary tour.

From the first time, the excitement was contagious. Knead, stretch, to try, to get dirty a little and laugh a lot: everything was part of the trip. Some were surprised to see how the mass came to life between his hands, others discovered that the muzzarella melts the truth about the pizza, and more than one is encouraged to try ingredients new that had never been touched before.

Each step was an opportunity to explore with their senses: touching the flour, smell the different scents, try a piece of muzzarella and see how it transforms everything in the oven. But beyond the culinary, was a workshop on confidence, creativity and team work.

The most awaited moment, of course, was to try their own creations. See their faces when you bite into that first piece—made of 100% for them—was the best part. Pride, surprise, and eager to repeat.
Because yes, learning to cook is much more than follow a recipe. Is to discover new flavors, connect with others and to understand that the kitchen is a place where we can all create.
And if, in addition, there's a cheese melting... it even better!
Many thanks to @chefcitos.uy for guiding us in this experience delicious and fun.
